VIENTIANE – Primary school children start receiving WFP school meals in southern Laos

In an opening ceremony held today in Ban Mixay, Attapeu province, School Feeding activities assisted by the World Food Programme (WFP) in the Lao PDR were expanded to three new provinces of Southern Laos. Starting from the current semester, almost 24,000 schoolchildren in 230 schools across Saravane, Sekong and Attapeu receive a daily meal at school as well as take-home rations to share with their families.
