The UN Communications Group (UNCG) and Lao Journalists met at UN House on 6 July to discuss ways to better support each other’s work. The forum was chaired by the Vice President of the Lao Journalists Association, Somsanouk Mixay and the UNCG Chair, Cornelia Paetz.

The UN provided brief explanations about the work of the UN system and agencies in Lao PDR. Discussions were also held about how the UN can best support Lao journalists through providing regular information and training. The UN will now organize a series of thematic briefings for journalists to futher their awareness and understanding about some of the key development issues in the country.
