VIENTIANE – BANGKOK - The United Nations has welcomed the Government of the Lao PDR in joining the international community in its commitment to ensure the further realization of civil and political rights, the rights of people with disabilities and protection against corruption, after its ratification of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) during the session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
